With the new $399 price drop of the iPhone I’d have to say it’s better than the iPod touch. Even if: It’s bigger, has less space and requires phone service; it still is an awesome phone and the best DAP out right now. [Link] (0)

  • Saw that one coming... they did the price drop and the wifi only version.

Even though I still wouldn't buy one, it definitely makes it a much more attractive device.
  • Only after you said you doubted it.

But everyone knew they would come out with new iPods, also dropping the price and coming out with a cheaper version is completely different.

Also, Apple has never done this; where they launch something and then do a major price drop soon after. It works out for me though.
  • Sure, but I corrected myself in the later comment that I linked to above.

I just thought it was funny that they ended up doing both of the things I mentioned in that comment.
  • i can't imagine anyone getting a touch since the nano plays video now. i mean, if you're gonna get a touch, just get an iphone... the pda sans phone model has been dead for years.
  • It's not trying to be an PDA though, its trying to be a the best media player and consumer electronic.

I would get it if I didn't want to carry two devices everywhere, that's why I'm commenting here with my iPhone and have the curve on the block for ebay.

Both devices are awesome and if you really don't want to use att but want everything else the iPhone has to offer the touch is there. But I see your point if you just want to play video, the nano is perfect, and of you have a lot of video the classic is there.
  • Is the only difference between the $399 touch and the $399 iPhone the storage size vs. lack of phone connection?

If so, then I agree - the touch is a loser.
  • Well the Touch starts at $299, is the smaller and doesn't require phone service.
  • Yeah, it just seems like the phone service ads so much value to the device that it would be stupid to pick the touch, especially with those prices.
