I guess I shouldn't comment on the specifics of those shows, since I still haven't listened to 54 yet, much less 55.

I'm not necessarily saying they don't dish out a bit of mac bashing every now and then (which I don't have a problem with, of course). Whether you take that as being "slanted" or just a couple guys poking fun at Apple is a matter of personal preference.

I think they try to do an entertaining show, and throw in some Linux news along the way. If that means that sometimes they don't try to nail down / balance the technical details of each story (especially when it comes to taking jabs at Linux competitors), it doesn't really bother me, because I don't think they're trying to do that kind of "authoritative" news show.

I don't disagree that in some ways Linux looks better, it's just biased when you dismiss another's feature as uncritical or useless because Linux doesn't have it and then point out practically the same exact uncritical or useless feature of Linux as a pro against the others.

I <del datetime="2007-07-24T19:04:45+00:00">love</del> the take on photobooth and timemachine and then dismissing the mass updates for ical, mail and others as nothing special, then flip-floping on the gutsy release to say that Leopard isn't as big of an update.

Seriously, couldn't it just be that they do think the Linux docks they use look better? That's doesn't necessarily mean they're biased.

Episode 55 almost seems purposely inaccurate and slanted towards Linux. Once again, "it's just looks good" but "linux docks look better". Oh well, it's all entertainment.

No, I'm just pointing out that your conclusions about Bryan may be wrong.

You've decided that his experience with the Mac community "was entirely derived from" the resexcellence fiasco, which I'm absolutely sure is incorrect. You've determined he's a "hack" developer, without the necessary development experience or exposure to his code (much of which is not in publicly released products) necessary to make that determination.

I'm just trying to say that leaping to those conclusions based on incomplete (at best) or inaccurate information isn't really fair.

Like I said over on the other thread, I don't think you're in a position to judge either the development skills or the Apple community experience of someone you don't know, especially not primarily basing it on postings by people who clearly have an agenda to slam that particular person.

Also, please don't forget that the resexcellence story has two sides, and you are only reading the opinion of someone involved with one of those sides, and apparently deciding to believe everything that person says and nothing the people on the other side say.

It really seems that you're jumping on the bandwagon of personally judging someone that you don't really know, and I'm not sure why you have such strong feelings about him.

As to the larger issue of the show's Apple coverage, just remember that they are a Linux show, and that (as such) any Apple coverage will probably only be covered in relation to a Linux topic. Since Linux and the Mac OS are about as opposite as you can get in many ways, it stands to reason that some particular item from Apple is perceived as negative when it's being compared to its counterpart in the Linux world, which they view in a positive light.

As for the e-mails being rude, if you're going to quote that part, you should also quote the follow ups:
