frankly i'm kinda scared to see what makes it into the core. your plugin does what I need, and your suggestion makes sense to me.
The idea of not searching pages with templates from that thread is seriously retarded. My only pages that use templates are the ones that are more important and require special presentation. Most people use ryan duff's contact form plugin, which would still show up in search results.

All needs to be fully parametered. The thing is, when you have WP giving this as default options, then the plugin will have to manage more other things. For instance, give back several threads (posts, pictures, video,...), give back accuracy (rating in %), and so on...
